route description

Charge your camera because on this ride, you'll want to take pictures of everything. At the beginning, you will admire the views at Čertova stěna and the Monastery in Vyšší Brod, one of the most important historical monuments of the region. You will pass the small village of Studánky in no time and will be right in the middle of the Šumava countryside. Along the small paths, you will reach the southernmost point in the Czech Republic and then you can continue across the border on the Austrian side past the fallow deer enclosure. After covering ca. 300 m of the main road, where you should watch the traffic, you'll be on the small roads near the Austrian farmhouses in a jiffy. Crossing on foot, you will come back to Czechia and carry on along the border past the wind farms and the former settlement of Kapličky back to Loučovice. Mind you, it will be very uphill today.
